A: The website migration service available at Big Hammer Hosting is totally free of charge and consists of moving all your files, databases and e–mails from your present hosting provider to your new web hosting account with us. We’ll also edit all the configuration settings needed for your sites to be completely operational on our leading–edge cloud hosting platform.Our techs are fully capable of moving any type of web site. With years of practical experience in this field, they are well–versed in the inner workings of our hosting platform, our Control Panel as well as all other well–known Control Panels. For them, transferring a custom application with lots of custom libraries is as easy as transferring a plain WordPress–based blog.

A: While we cannot give you an exact time frame, since there are plenty of factors, among them the physical size of the web files and databases, the location of the current host’s server, the complexity of your site and the present workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we’ll do our very best to transfer your site within 48 hours, and in certain cases – within 24 hours (if the content is not large).

A: Yes. We’ll require the name of the website that you’d like us to move. We will also need a means to access your old hosting account so that we can get the content associated with your web site.

A: Before we can begin the transfer of your hosting account, you must already have an account with us. Opening an account with us will require that you to disclose pretty much the same details you have given to your old web hosting provider. We also have an extremely strict Privacy Policy, which specifies how delicate data is tackled.

A: While we transfer your website, it will be available both in your hosting account with us and in your account with your former web hosting provider. Once the transfer is complete, we’ll make sure that everything is functioning correctly and that the integrity of your content is not compromised before telling you that the transfer is complete. After that, we’ll instruct you how to move the domain name to your web hosting account with us and how to update your DNS resource records.

A: While we migrate your content, your hosting provider won’t be aware of the transfer at all. We won’t touch base with them in any way.

A: We support all Linux–powered web hosting platforms. Basically, if we can receive access to your Control Panel, we’ll be able to transfer your site.The only platforms that we do not support are closed–source website creation platforms such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
