An access log is a thorough list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a particular website. Every file which was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have only one webpage with three embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for every of the six files that were accessed when the website visitor opened the webpage. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s OS, Internet browser and IP address. In some cases you could also find the referrer websites that sent the visitors to your site. The info which an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a desktop machine and used to write reports on the performance of an Internet site, besides the web stats that your hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

Our in-house built Hepsia CP has a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are among them. As soon as you sign in to your cloud hosting account and navigate to this section, you'll find a list of all the domain names and subdomains which you have. All it takes to allow the generation of access logs is to press a button which will be available next to each domain/subdomain. If the option is active, you'll see a download link and also the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your computer and view it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect immediately, so if you no longer require one, you could stop it with only a mouse click from the same section of the Control Panel. You will still have the ability to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our state-of-the-art website hosting platform shall generate access logs for any site hosted inside a semi-dedicated server account, as long as this feature is permitted. All domain names and subdomains that you have shall be listed inside the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, which we provide with all the accounts, so if you'd like our system to start producing logs for each of them, you should simply click on the compact button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You could deactivate this feature anytime by following the exact same steps. You'll find a Download link for each log within the same section of the CP, so you can save the content produced by our system in .txt format with simply a click. An existing log file may be downloaded even after the option has been disabled, so you will still be able to see the data that has already been generated.
